He primarily litigated the value of property for taxation purposes; he also dealt with interpreting development agreements, negotiating incentives and pushing land use applications through local government authorities.

After researching the hottest markets in the U.S., Walter relocated along with his growing family to Salt Lake City. Walter was quickly invited to join the firm of Hutchings, Baird, Curtis & Astill, PLLC.
He focused on helping developers, tenants and property
owners achieve their real estate goals.
He litigated against numerous local governments over the applicability of land use ordinances and the interpretation of development agreements. Walter also represented developers in actions against neighboring land owners and numerous other real estate matters.

In his own private practice in SLC, Walter represents an impressive list of clients, both commercial and residential, in contract litigation, land
use development, eminent domain proceedings, fraudulent behavior by stakeholders in property transactions, along with general matters
such as landlord tenant disputes, evictions, condemnations,
tax valuation appeals and resolving lien disputes.
He is a leader in foreclosure defense and has been frequently
quoted as such in newspapers nationwide.
Walter was hired by Walgreens, to handle the appeal of real
estate tax valuations - a massive portfolio of Utah properties estimated
at a total value of $95 million.
